The Laurels of Norworth is very pleased that many surgeons and attending physicians follow their patients at our facility.
If your physician does not have admitting privileges, our Medical Director or other attending physician will be happy to oversee your care while you are staying with us. Dennis J. Pierson, MD, CMD, FAAFP
Medical Director
Dr. Pierson obtained both his bachelor’s degree and doctor of medicine degree from The Ohio State University. Shortly after earning his degree in medicine, he began his journey as medical director for healthcare facilities throughout Ohio.
In 1998, he received the OHCA Award for Personal Excellence in Medicine. He was also selected five times as one of America’s Top Family Doctors by Consumer’s Research Council of America.
Throughout the years, Dennis has been an integral part of both local and national professional medical societies. He is also an active member of the community as evident through his local contributions to the March of Dimes, Helping Hands Home Health Agency, American Red Cross, and many more organizations.
Dennis is excited to leverage his vast medical experience and be a leader within Theoria Medical in his current role as medical director with The Laurels of Norworth.
Raquel Silva, MD, Physiatrist
Attending Physican
Raquel N. Silva, MD is a graduate of Ross University. She completed her intern year at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD and residency at MedStar Georgetown-National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC.
Dr. Silva has been practicing since 2014 with US Physiatry, LLC. She specializes in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation where her focus is on evaluating and treating illnesses, injuries and disabilities that affect the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Silva is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
David Ware, MD, Wound Care Physician
Attending Physician
Dr. David Ware M.D. as Wound Care Doctor . Dr. Ware graduated magna cum laude from Ross University School of Medicine in 2003, moving to the Miami Valley soon after. He interned at Wright State’s School of Medicine for a year before completing a surgical residency through Wright State at Miami Valley Hospital. Currently, Dr. Ware is working with VOHRA Wound Physicians. VOHRA is a group of certified wound care specialists who provide wound care and dermatological services to nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. His visits will reduce sending residents and patients out for procedures, appointments, and lowering the chance of re-hospitalizations to offer excellence in care. Dr. Ware is a General Surgeon and can accommodate feeding tubes, PEG tubes, skin integrity, and falls.
